The original laser is back on the Nikon A1 after its repair. This means it now has all the original laser lines; 407 nm, 440nm, 488 nm, 514 nm, 561 nm and 637 nm. ...and it can be used for imaging DAPI again ;)

The Leica SP8 confocal is now running again after the upgrade with 405 nm laser. You can now more straightforward image, for instance, Hoechst and DAPI with standard single photon emission.

The NIS Elements software on the windows analysis workstation has been upgraded to 5.3.

New functionalities are e.g. “Clarify.ai” that is a pre-trained neural network meant for removing blur from widefield images.

Between 6 November to 13th of November 2017 we are hosting a demo session of Olympus FV3000 confocal microscope.

Specifications

It is equipped with 7 lasers, 2 GaAsp detectors and two regular PMTs, resonant scanner and galvo scanner. Superresolution module and deconvolution.  Able to go to 120nm resolution under specific conditions.

We would like to offer a mini hands-on course on CARS microscopy for PhD students and SDU staff. The course is one day course and includes theory introduction (2 hours) and lab exercises (4 hours). After the course participants will be able to work independently on the Leica SP8 microscope at DaMBIC .

New 10x air objective is available for users on Leica SP8 machine:

HC PL APO 10x/0.40 CS2 Plan apochromatic objective with superior color correction CS2, optimized for confocal scanning applications. This objective is ideal for simultaneous use of 405 nm and visible excitation with the TCS SP8. For use with 0.17 mm coverglass. Air immersion. Free working distance: 2.2 mm.

DaMBIC members are participating in the organization of 12 th Annual Biophysics PhD Meeting 2017 at Holbæk.

The meeting will take place June 21st -23rd 2017. It is free to attend and it worth 2 ECTS credits. 

This years theme will be collaboration! We will have speakers from academia and industry with a focus on collaboration. Each participant will give a short 10 minute presentation on their own project.

Nikon andor spinning disk is ready for live cell imaging at CO2 atmosphere and 37C now. Temperature stability was tested and shows good results.
